No app or account is required, so there is no barrier to use! Published maps open directly in a web browser and are optimized for mobile use. Anyone can view a public map without signing in. Sign-in is required only where you deliberately restrict a private map to your organization or selected users.

Yes, fans can submit comments and photos by tapping on the map - giving organizers a way to turn the map into a more engaging event experience. Submitted public content is moderated before it is shown to other viewers.

Yes. You can organize location markers into categories and subcategories so viewers can focus on the information that matters to them. Amigomap also supports unique features such as time-based and zoom-based display rules, which are useful for busy events and information-rich maps.

Not at all. Amigomap is built for event organizers and other non-technical creators. Standard icons and straightforward controls are included, while more advanced options let you customize routes, markers, categories, styling, branding and viewer features when you need them.

No. You can draw a route directly in MapMaker, or import an existing GPX or GeoJSON track. That makes it easy to start with a course you already use in another mapping, race-planning or activity platform and then build the full Amigomap experience around it.

Yes — and this is deliberately simple. Once a map has been published, open it in MapMaker, make your changes and Save. The published map is updated automatically while keeping its existing audience. You only need to use Publish again if you want to change its audience or sharing options. If you save your work as a new map under a new name, that new map must be published separately.

MapMaker is the workspace where you create and edit the map, rather than an exact viewer preview. Routes and markers are visible while you work, but some styling and viewer features appear fully only in the published map. Click View to open the published map in a new tab and see it as your audience will.

For creating and editing maps in MapMaker, use a laptop or desktop. Published maps are designed for your audience to use on phones, tablets and desktop browsers.

Yes, depending on your plan. Starter maps are public and easy to share. Explorer and Champion also let you publish privately to your organization or to selected invited users. This makes private publishing useful for internal reviews, sponsor previews and other maps that are not ready for a public audience.

You can share the map by link and on eligible plans you can also embed a public map directly in your own website. If you later edit and save the same map, the published map will update to the new version.

Embedding lets you display a public Amigomap map directly inside your own website rather than sending visitors to a separate page. Amigomap provides the HTML iframe code that you add to your web page.

No. Website embeds are for public maps only. Organization-only and selected-user maps use Amigomap's authenticated viewing routes and cannot be embedded as public website iframes.

Domain verification restricts your public map embed to websites you have approved. This helps prevent someone else from taking your embed code and displaying the map on an unrelated site. Domain-verified embedding is available on Champion and custom plans.

Yes. You can add an elevation profile to an eligible route so viewers can explore the climbs and descents alongside the map. The elevation profile is shown as part of the published viewer experience.

Yes, Amigomap can turn a route into a downloadable map flyover video that you can use to build excitement before an event or explain the course visually. Flyovers are not available during the free trial.

No. Amigomap is primarily an event-mapping and audience-engagement platform. It lets organizers publish interactive maps with routes, event information, fan content, sponsor branding and other features. When a viewer needs turn-by-turn directions to a location on the map, they can open a navigation app from inside Amigomap.

Yes. You can create multiple maps during your live period, subject to your plan and normal fair-use safeguards. Your plan's map-view allowance applies across your organization rather than giving each individual map a separate allowance.

Absolutely. Amigomap has powerful features for races, routes and endurance events, but it can also be used for festivals, public events, tours, venues, community information, road closures and other location-based experiences.

Yes. Amigomap can be used for road closures, parades, festivals and public-information maps. We also offer custom arrangements for civic and other organizations with ongoing or specialist mapping requirements.

Strava is primarily an activity-recording and fitness platform. Amigomap is designed for organizers who want to turn a route into an interactive event and audience experience. You can import a standard GPX file, including one exported from Strava, and then add event information, styling, sponsor branding and viewer features around it.

The free trial gives you 7 days to try the core MapMaker workflow and publish a public map, with up to 100 map views and one organization user. The flyover feature is not included in the trial.

Your saved work is not immediately deleted, but normal map operations and audience viewing are paused when the trial ends. To continue, sign in as an admin and start a paid plan from Manage Organization > Plan + Usage.

Sign in as an admin and open Manage Organization > Plan + Usage. Choose Select plan + start now, select your plan and complete checkout. After payment, reopen or refresh Plan + Usage to see your updated plan, live period and map-view allowance.

There is no credit card required for the free trial and no paid subscription to cancel. You can simply stop using Amigomap. If you want your trial workspace or data removed, contact us.

The live period is the active time window for your plan. During it, you can use the plan's MapMaker and publishing features and your published maps can be viewed by their audience. Starter includes 45 days, Explorer 180 days and Champion 360 days.

Your saved maps, images and settings are not immediately deleted when a live period ends. Normal map operations and audience viewing are paused until you extend the live period or start a new plan. Data associated with an account that remains without an active paid plan may eventually be deleted.

Yes. Paid plans can be extended in 30-day blocks. An extension adds time to your current live period but does not add map views. Any remaining map-view allowance continues into the extended period; if you also need more views, you can purchase a map-view top-up separately.

A map view is counted when a published map successfully opens and loads its map data. Normal editing and saving in MapMaker do not count as map views.

Top-ups apply to your current live period. If you extend that live period, unused top-up views continue into the extension. If you start a new plan instead, the map-view allowance resets to the new plan's included allowance and unused top-up views do not carry over.

We monitor map-view usage and notify you as your allowance runs low. You can add extra map views or move to a larger plan. For major events where unusually high traffic is expected, contact us in advance so we can help plan the appropriate capacity and commercial setup.

Amigomap is built for normal race, event, civic and community-map use. You can create multiple maps, but your plan's map-view allowance, storage safeguards and protections against automated or abusive traffic still apply. If you expect exceptional traffic, heavy fan-photo use or unusual operational requirements, contact us so we can help you plan for them.

Yes, on plans that include multiple organization users. Amigomap supports different roles for people who administer the organization, create maps, view maps or access selected private content. Public spectators viewing a public map do not count as organization users and do not need to sign in.

No. Starter includes one organization user. If you need additional team members, private-map users or guests, choose a plan that includes more organization users.

Contact Amigomap support if you want to move to a lower plan. We will help you check that your current organization users and publishing requirements fit the lower plan before the change is made, helping avoid unexpected loss of team or private-map access.

Amigomap uses mapping technology, map styles and related services provided by Mapbox. Map data may include OpenStreetMap and other third-party sources. Mapbox, OpenStreetMap and other data providers are independent of Amigomap.
